工房兼住居や自由度の高いアトリエ事務所を京都で求めている人はたくさんいるのに、なかなか良い物件が無い。これまでの京都にはあまりないのですが、必要とされてきたと思います。そんな悩みをたくさん聞いてきて、つれづれnishijinはつくられました。
敷地内にある木造戸建て7軒を改装し、異業種の職人や作家でありながらも似たような雰囲気を持つ仲間が集っています。中庭は、普段は入居者専用ですが、色々な楽しいイベントが時々開催されています。個々の個性を尊重しながらも、一人ではない安心さと広がる可能性が楽しめるテナントになっています。
Although many people in Kyoto are looking for spaces that combine a workshop and residence, or highly flexible studio offices, truly suitable properties have been hard to find. While this type of place has been rare in Kyoto, it has long been needed. Having heard many such concerns over the years, Tsurezure Nishijin was created.
Seven wooden houses on the site have been renovated, bringing together artisans and creators from different fields who share a similar sensibility. The courtyard is usually reserved for residents, but from time to time it becomes a venue for enjoyable events. While respecting each individual’s uniqueness, this is a tenant community where one can enjoy both the reassurance of not being alone and the possibilities that emerge from connection.

We lend out picnic gear, so you can come empty-handed and relax.
Feel free to bring your own food, like bento lunches.
The picnic spot is a grassy courtyard hidden at the end of a narrow alley.

A Japanese wine bar quietly tucked away in a hidden garden in Nishijin.
@anna.camp_wine offers a carefully selected collection of Japanese wines gathered through visits to producers across the country. All wines are also available for purchase.
The bar usually operates by reservation (we open upon request—just get in touch).
Solo guests are very welcome, even for just a single glass.

An experiential Japanese silk textile fashion project.
In addition to producing the silk textile documentary film “Weaving the Forest.”, which conveys the beauty of the interconnectedness of life, the project travels to silk-producing regions across Japan where rich textile traditions remain. Through Transformative Tourism—journeys that renew the human spirit—and the planning and operation of the dyeing studio “MORI WO ORU Design Studio,” the project explores new ways of engaging with silk culture.
