2016年、祖父から受け継いだ北野商店街沿いと路地の一体の7軒の木造戸建てと１軒の蔵を再生すべく、

オーナーの吉田が株式会社add spiceの岸本女史に依頼し、互いに意見を出し合いり企画した「つれづれnishijin」というプロジェクトです。

クリエイティブな職種の方達が互いを尊重し、互いの世界観を発揮してもらえるような新しい職住一体群です。

2018年3月から始動し、2019年８月までに1期完成（A/B/C/F/G区画完成）、2020年4月に2期完成（D区画）、2022年11月に3期（蔵：イベントスペース）が完成しました。

2024年２月頃に最終4期完成（E区画）致しました。

In 2016, with the aim of revitalizing seven wooden houses and one storehouse inherited from the owner’s grandfather—located along the Kitano Shopping Street and its surrounding alleys—the project “Tsurezure Nishijin” was conceived.

The owner, Yoshida, worked with Ms. Kishimoto of add spice Co., Ltd., sharing ideas and planning the project together. The result is a new type of live-work community designed for people in creative fields, where residents respect one another and are free to express their own unique worldviews.

The project began in March 2018.

Phase 1 was completed by August 2019 (Units A, B, C, F, and G),

Phase 2 in April 2020 (Unit D),

Phase 3 in November 2022 (the kura storehouse, now an event space),

and the final Phase 4 was completed around February 2024 (Unit E).

About NISHIJIN AREA

西陣はその名の通り、古くから西陣織で栄えたものづくりの街で、そこに住みながら働く「職住一体」が支えてきた街ともいえます。

また、ここ数年はエリア周辺に若い人の店が増えつつあります。花屋さん、焼菓子屋さん、こだわりのコーヒーカフェ…少し大人のゆったりとした、本格的な専門店が多いように思います。

もちろん、天神さん（北野天満宮）も近く、毎月25日の縁日では新旧の店で賑わいます。

古き良き伝統的な街なみと、若い店舗の「 今っぽさ」 が程よく入り交じる、

それが今の西陣の魅力だと思います。

As its name suggests, Nishijin has long been a center of craftsmanship, flourishing through the tradition of Nishijin weaving. It is also a town supported by a live-work culture, where people both lived and worked in the same place.

In recent years, more shops run by younger generations have been opening in and around the area—florists, baked goods shops, and specialty coffee cafés. Many of them are calm, thoughtfully curated spaces with a mature and relaxed atmosphere.

The area is also close to Tenjin-san (Kitano Tenmangu Shrine), and on the 25th of each month, the shrine’s market brings lively crowds to both long-established and newer shops.

A harmonious blend of traditional streetscapes and a contemporary sensibility—

that balance is what makes Nishijin so appealing today.

文化庁移転や西陣呼称550 年を記念し、西陣の歴史性・文化性に注目が高まっています。これを機運を捉え、西陣の誇る資源と発展を続ける精神を最大限に発揮しつつあります。
